Agree with price - Sony has always priced themselves as a premium product for little perceivable gain in value. But as someone who works in distribution, LG TVs are some of the worst in terms of warranty rates and channel support. Samsung used to be brilliant, but they've really come back to the pack in the last two years. Sony have stayed fairly stable.
Samsung introduced the zero dead pixel warranty into mainstream TVs though, so I still love em.
