Floaty jumping is only a "problem" for the puritanical platformer. The "double jump" is a much more egregious violation of the laws of physics than floaty jumping ever was.
I'm glad it's still the default setting with the ability for the fanatical purists to "correct" this "fatal flaw" for themselves without ruining it for everyone else.
It'll be interesting to see how it works with online coop play with one sackboy floating all over the place and another jumping like a lead balloon.
