So a little background info:

I'm a Public Affairs major (thought it would help me get over my social anxiety if I found myself in situations I would naturally avoid), and last week I had class in which my professor decided to put us in front of a camera so that we could get over any shyness we may have. We were supposed to say why we choose our major and what our direction in life is.

Please help me get over the absudity of your first sentence.

You have anxiety over public speaking...so you decided to pick a career where that would be a major compenent?

I can understand you taking a class or two for electives but to pick your major based on that?  Man, that just seems like you're setting yourself up for a career at McDonald's drive-thru.

Also, I'm pretty sure whatever reason you give for the Mickey Mouse doll is supposed to be an inflection on you so any answer we give you is going to be worthless since it isn't you.

Harsh, but true. I was visiting a therapist trying to get over my anxiety issues, and she advised me to face my fears. Sadly, I think I took it a little too overboard.
