Though onn the original point, Machina is wrong - to the casual observer, it's a lot more surprising that a black man became President.

To clarify - I expressed surprise at the American Idol guy being runner-up, Seece then said he was more surprised by a black person becoming President. I didn't disagree with him there, other than to say that an openly gay President would be even less likely.
