This is an ancient argument.
Women in games are no more unrealistic in there portrayal than how the male characters are. Take a look at the Gears of War III scans. You have to go to a game like Bayonetta to find the equivalent of that in female design.
People just like idealized representations of characters. Strong and heroic for men, sensual and beautiful for women. If you want to see the opposite, go walk down the street. Not a pretty sight.
Hell, hell if I was in charge, all video game girls would look Ivy from Soul Calibur.
