@nightantilli, I get everything youre saying and you have definitely done your research but there are a couple things I would have to disagree with you on. I agree that multiplatform titles should be thrown into the discussion of which console produces the best graphics but I believe that those games should be widdled down to the ones that can compare with console exclusives, I mean why does it make sense to use a multiplatform game that may look better on the 360 than the ps3, but yet a ps3 exclusive looks much better than it or vice versa? (although it is rarely the case that a ps3 mutliplat looks better). As long as the graphical prowess of those particular mutliplatform games can match or surpass anything that has been done exclusively for each system than they of course should be metioned but I dont think it is a fair assessment if these games are inferior to each consoles exclusives, throwing things such as budget and time spent also do not hold much value because unless you have the real figures on how much time and money was spent on each project, those points are moot. Dont get me wrong, I own all three systems so I could care less which one has the most power, I just felt it necessary to add my opinion as I see points on both ends but some arguments dont really make much sense.
What im sayin is I dont understand why exclusives wouldn't be the benchmark from which to compare a consoles power, isn't that where most developers are able to tap into each consoles strengths without having to worry about porting issues and optimizing code for several platforms? This is when the best looking games are made, when there is only one console in mind meaning there isn't extra time and resources spent towards creating a game that works for multiple systems, it can be spent in improving the features and performance of the game. This generation is far from over, so there are plenty of games yet to be released that will further push each console to the max, but I wholeheartedly believe that exclusives are the clear determinant to which console is superior in that department. Like I said Im not gonna determine a winner because I dont care, im just trying to find out why you believe exclusives shouldnt be used as the main argument, because if the 360 has more power than the ps3 but the ps3 has better looking games than you are saying that the developers behind 360 exclusives are less talented which would be doubly so since the 360 is easier to program for, or if the ps3 has more power than the 360 yet the 360 has better lookin games than the same is said for the developers behind ps3 exclusives. Doesnt make any sense.
