Metzen has screwed up on lore a couple times in the past so he might want to listen to a few of the lore nerds that run rampant. Regardless, this is just speculation about possible explanations for the story mode. Since it currently involves all of three people, I kindly invite you to just skip our posts. Hell I will even make it easy for you for me. I'll put a lore warning at the start as an act of kindness.
