Prayer requires suspension of belief to work

Being adherent to any faith requires a suspension of disbelief.

Let me tell you, as I was being prepped at age 21 for a surgery involving cancer, prayer helped about as much as shittin' in a bucket.

I just wanted, and hoped for, a competent doctor at that moment and time.
