100% completly true, im mexican and we normally dont celebrate 5 de Mayo all that much, its just a day off school and work, but fo anything else, its justa regular day. I dont know why hispanic people (well mexican people) living in the US celebrate this day,its just the day the mexican army defeat the French invaders and sent their asses back to france 
lol, but i dont know why chicanos (mexican-americans) our independence our revolution or something more important...., but hey if more beer is what we geet, happy 5 de mayo!!:D
