Maybe because there is no PSP2? That seems to be the case.
I still think we are going to see PSP push (price cut/new model/PSP Go price cut with built-in camera and other stuff). Also, I bet they're going to release new hardwares (PSPhone? PSTablet?) that are more power (but the extra power will be used only for OS and social stuff) and share PSP games, with some specific titles for those new hardwares (touchscreen and stuff).
