The thing is you don't see the humans as evil, you see the corporations, or the man, as evil.  In that sense, it's exactly like every other movie.  The fact that people rate it as high as they do for the 3D or say you should only watch it in 3D shows you how not-good of a movie it is.

That's because it wasn't trying to say humans are evil.  If a movie is supposed to be condemning colonialism, it doesn't make much sense to condem humans as a whole, does it?  Also, why do people refuse to consider that 3D might add something to the movie beyond the prettiness?

The 3D can absolutely make a movie better, I'm not saying it can't, what I'm saying the 3D and visual effects in general are the only reasons to see Avatar.  Beyond that it's a pretty blah that has been done 100 times over.

Beyond the visual effects it brings nothing to movies and I'm not saying movies in general always have to be excellent, but if you're calling the your movie the greatest movie of all time, it better be more than just eye candy.
