I'm sadden by the lack of Metroid Prime and Jet Set Radio Future.

As much as Metroid Prime looked amazing when it came out, it doesn't really hold up today.  Part of the reason you are seeing a lot of common games being named (Dragon Quest VIII, Zelda, Okami, etc) is not because they pushed the maximum polygons or had the best lighting effects for their time.  But because they had the best combination of 'art design' and 'graphics design'.  That's why a game like Dragon Quest VIII or Wind Waker can still hold up next to all the major HD titles today, which clearly have 10x the textures or graphical effects onscreen.

The reason I say Metroid Prime doesn't hold up as well is because it tried to emphasize the same style as many HD games do today.  Heavy use of set textures, ambient lighting and etc.  For its time, it was a massive undertaking and showed the game was one of the biggest of the generation.  But if you go back and play it now compared to something on the 360/PS3...its not going to hold up.  Whereas if you play some of the other titles mentioned, its not going to be that big of a difference.
