It's because not many of us, me included can't afford to have all three consoles, and we would like our console to win. It's also because we want to be right, justify our purchase(insecurity is natural) and most importantly, have more games available to those who care about the console war. Then there's those that gets all warm and fuzzy when their chosen company wins.
