@ joeorc

I have one single question for you.

If Sony was planning the PS Move since 2004 why this statement form themselves?

"I think the notion of that controller is a non-trivial point that you’ve brought up, that control and that familiarity is like comfort food - from my perspective, we lead, we don’t follow. And as a brand, Nintendo’s got their thing, and we’re not trying to get the senior citizen group to get into gaming"

", but we’d never consider iterating off of existing competitive technology - because we think that’s a fad and that’s not the way we approach product development. It’s not the way we approach the marketing or the branding of PlayStation."

I'd really like someone to explain this. A company that "is creating" a motion sensing pad trolling themselves? ;)

Ups ;)

LoL.

I wonder the amount of Spin Skill one needs to justify this.

Still waiting for a response ;)

ok spin this:

Inventors: Shimizu; Takao (Kyoto, JP); Suzuki; Toshiaki (Kyoto, JP)
Assignee: Nintendo Co., Ltd. (Kyoto, JP)
Appl. No.: 440111
Filed: May 19, 2003

BACKGROUND AND SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Japanese Patent Laid-Open Publication No. 2001-170358 discloses a game system (hereinafter, referred to as "a conventional technique") using a tilt sensor. In this conventional technique, when a handheld game device or a game controller (hereinafter, referred to as "a game device, etc." in place of "a handheld game device or a game controller") is tilted, a game image is generated in which an object such as a player character, etc., moves (rolls over) in the direction of tilt, thereby allowing a player to feel as if a game space is actually tilted in accordance with a tilt of the game device, etc.

The above described conventional technique, however, is used for controlling a two-dimensional game image, and cannot be adapted to a three-dimensional game image which has become prevalent as a game image.

that's nintendo's patent!

look up Sony's and you will see there is no spin, claim all you want Sony did not copy nor did Nintendo Copy Sony they were both working on the same IDEA for Motion controll's, since the DEVELOPMENT OF THE Nintendo Wii mote was being development since the Game cube why was it not released for the Game cube also?

it's simple

it also was not ready yet.

I don't need to spin anything. Just tell me why that Sony comment bashing motion control while they "had" a motion control in the works lol. Epic lol.

because one PR company never bashes any other company for no reason right?

god it just seem's when PR gets posted some of the people hate on one company PR and only blame that company for Bad PR when they all do it. but it seem's only one company is more at fault over it than other's just like Some like to spout off some "fan's" of a game console are worse than other "game console fan's".

their PR. that's what PR. is paid to do.

just because they bashed Motion control's does not mean they do not have one of their own , or that other companies did not feel that way about motion control's. it just mean's their trying to put doubt about a product in the Mind's of the consumer's it's like the mud slinging in political campaign's.

they all do it.

I'll say what you perfectly know my friend:

Baaaaack in 2007, the Wii was a fad. A joke. LOL. An underdog system that would sell greatly just for one year (acording to Michael Pachter, Microsoft and Sony) and then all of us would jump aboard the all mighty, CELL powered PS3, which costed 600$.

So Sony just bashed Wiimote, because they were not going that route, who's gonna copy the fad? The "Kiddy" system?

Back in 2008, Nintendo is still butt rapping Sony in hardware and software sales, and maybe in mid 2008 was probably when they started working on PS Move, implementing old technology they may have patented for Eye toy, because the "kiddy" system was set to be the market leader for this gen. Motion controls were what defines a new gen system, not graphics, and Sony was aware of that.

So , in E3 2009, one year later, they show off a wiimote rip off, that resembles a sex toy for many people on the internets, and has amazingly great accuracy for a beta build of the device - something equivalent to wii motion plus.

In this time, they're yet to make a nunchuk rip off, because they believe that holding a PS3 controller alongside a wand would please gamers, as shown in a RE5 Special Demo for the PS Move. But thing is, it didn't please no one. They needed to copy the nunchuk too.

It was recently, that Sony finally unveiled the full set. A nice Wiimote and Nunchuk imitation, using some nice Sony tech they already had from Eye Toy development, it works the same as the Wiimote but using different method. Pretty clever.

Now, the world is still to know if Sony's Nunchuk will have motion sensors or not, because it is a rushed peripheral, yet in development, not a project from 2005.

This, is pretty much what happened :)

an like i just stated the hatred for some companies fit certain gamer's to a tee.

you can think what you want but no proof will change your mind you have already made up your mind.

What I said is proof. Since the SNES times Sony has been copying Nintendo controllers, this is no surprise.

I don't know if you haven't noticed yet, but only you and another couple guys keep bragging about it not being a wiimote rip off. Serisouly dude, it only makes you a more serious person just to get over and admit it, like many Sony fans already did.

Does that fact stops you from enjoying such a device? Hell no, despite coming 4 years later, I think it will be an awesome experience for whoever hasn't yet had a Wii. Even for Wii owners, there may be something to look at, some epic game for it that differs a lot from what the Wii has served.

Seriously, your debating skills are awesome, you're only a die hard Sony fan.

You make me remember those Nintendo fans (very few) that keep saying the Wii's online is awesome and they don't need something like Live, while everybody knows that an online service on the Wii like Xbox Live would be a dream. (If free, but this is already my own opinion)

Im not bragging, i am just saying i do not agree with other's opinion on That Sony copied Nintendo on their motion controller's.

but I will say if it was not for Nintendo, Sony most likely would have never  released their motion controller due to the Eyetoy not getting the support since  the PS2 eyetoy  release. which has been very lackluster

an no In my opinion what you stated is not proof, in your mind it's proof we are not going to agree on this because in your opinion it's proof, my opinion on that is.

no it's not proof.

just because one company bring's out a technology does not mean another company copy's said technology.

that's like saying one car is a copy of another car

like I stated just because one company add's something does not mean another company copied another.

for one both motion control system's do not operate the same, ARE NOT EVEN SHAPED THE SAME, or the same size:

Wii mote is an oblong

the Move is a Cllinder

How else do you make wand's?

And i am not a die hard Sony fan I own many game system's not just Sony's

I AM BOLO

100% lover "nothing else matter's" after that...
