@Bolded:  I must admit that I find this statement to be a bit bizarre. If you believe that God exists, but is not perfect, then is He worth worshipping? Is He worth following? Is He worth trusting? How can you know if/when He has your best interests at heart?

I feel that it's got to be all or nothing. Either there is a God and He is perfect in every way, or there isn't one at all.

lol, yeah everyone i know finds it strange too. But i really believe God learns new things and grows from his mistakes. Even if he is imperfect, to me, he is still worth following. His forgiveness and love is all i need to know. He gave us freedom, and knew his son was going to die for our sins. I also believe he does not know the future.

But he has the best interest at heart for those who follow his word, and trust him. The reason though why i believe this, is because he used to kind of be a dick in the old Testament. He used to kill people left and right, and as i read through it, the bad outweighed the good for me. But then, i realized that maybe he is not perfect. That he learns, Jesus, helping him do that also.

Even though he may not be perfect, he is still the perfect God to me (just not actually perfect if you get what i mean). Now of course, i could be wrong, but i do have a strong feeling about it.

I think this verse causes a major problem for you. God's own Word declares His complete perfection. Would you suggest that God's Word is lying about Him? If so, why follow the Bible if it is directly lying to us? Couldn't it be full of lies and deception everywhere else, if that is the case?

Also consider: "...for God is greater than our heart and knows all things." - 1 John 3:18 ("All things" would include knowing the future.)

I don't believe that the God you are describing is at all consistent with the God of Christianity. You may have a personal opinion about God's dealings with man in the Old Testament, but that doesn't mean that there weren't reasons for God's actions. If you want to know why God did what He did in the Old Testament, I might suggest doing a bit of research instead of making assumptions based on your initial emotional reactions. Without the infallibility of God and His Word, everything about Christianity deteriorates into absurdity.

Before, i just said that i do not trust the letter to the word. No matter what, we know the bible was written by man. There is no way in hell, that the bible we read today is the same exact bible God wanted us to read back then. Even if he lies to us, what if we never realized it? then would it matter if he lied to us? just because we realize it, it does not make his love or forgiveness any less than what it was before. You sound like i am just a 10 year old looking for some reason for why my God does bad things. I am not, there is no emotion, i can accept that my God does not exist for your information. Its just that, i still believe, and will always believe, that even if he is not real, if the world were to follow his sons word, then we would turn out great. There is nothing absurd about wanting a heaven when you die, people need it.
