that sucks.

But I don't think it has anything to do with using PS2 cables, they're 100% interchangeable as far as I understand, and I have had no problems switching between them and HDMI when I get back to my house.

I'm reaching here but are you sure it's your PS3 giving the problems and not your display? i.e tried using your PS3 on another 1080p tv?

if that doesn't work maybe your HDMI port/controller got damaged somehow (static spark etc.) and might need repairs, I doubt software could fix it

also try another set of HDMI cables

So I was at "Big Lots" today and saw a $12 HDMI cable..
I thought what the hell, right?
If it doesn't work, it's only a $12 loss;
I hurried home and tried and guess what? It actually worked!

It seems to me now that I had somehow f*d up the $40 HDMI cable I had originally bought and I am now using a merely $12 one...

Just updating you even if you don't care

excellent!

I'm a fan of good news that doesn't cost stacks o' cash

and of course I care!
