GoW3 may look better, but it's not as technically impressive because it uses a fixed camera and you can do all sorts of extra stuff if you always know where the camera is going to be going from one moment to the next

The camera zooms in and rotates all the time in God of War 3, so it shouldn't be called a fixed camera. It does only allow a limited amount of manual camera manupulations to the user, the right analog stick is instead mapped to evading actions or for pointing instead of camera control. This of course should allow for better optimisations and director's control.

God of War 3 however is far from being technically less impressive, as for example the boss battles are amazing and unrivalled. Also the game runs in 720p with better anti-aliasing compared to Alan Wake's 540p. The assets are also of much higher quality. With regard to audio the game supports 7.1 surround audio and there are many different supported languages on the PAL disc unlike is the case with Alan Wake.

Due to the large differences in gameplay mechanics, I think the game is much better compared to the Uncharted series, which look a lot more detailed with higher quality textures and more polygons onscreen, the character reacts far more to the environement and events, etc judging on what we have seen so far.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."
