Whether it's a copy is pretty much irrelevant to anyone who doesn't think the inventor of the wheel was the only person to make a version of something worth using.
There was a lot of room for improvement with the Wii remote, even after Motion Plus, which still has problems in addition to being an optional controller (meaning most developers aren't even using it anyway).
It still boils down to how well the games use the controls, and how good the games are overall, whether it's on the Wii or the PS3.
