I don't use my pinky finger either. Never developed enough strength on that finger and I kept practicing ignoring it. Nowadays I just can't blend in my pinky finger as the huge difference of skill next to the other fingers limits me.
I've developed my own ways to pull out chords and scales with 3 fingers and now trying to do that with 4 may just throw me back.
The same case might have happened with her...
