She deserves it. Many of you might not see it, but I think this represents something truly monumental in the vein of social equality. So much so, I dare say it's along the lines of the acceptance of homosexuals and the United States electing its first black president!!!
Just 20 years ago someone like her would've never become such a success. She'd be more likely to get arrested in Eddie Murphy's van than become an Idol for all to worship.
