Yes, Pinochet made several economic changes that would have taken decades in a democracy... of course it's easier when you adopt a policy of killing, throw in jail or send out of the country the people who doesn't agree with you, like this fucker did.

The politic opinions in this country are a mess, a LOT of people here absolutely LOVE Pinochet because of this economic turnaround, but overlook the crimes he and his administration commited.

I agree with this, I dont like Pinochet at all.

I dont like that time and Im glad I was born in the 90s where I can say whatever I want without the fear of dissapearing.

I agree he helped the economical rise in the country, him as the people who worked for him since he was probably more stupid than Bush, but its easy with the support of inteligent people who can do whatever they want and fuck people that dont agree.

Its not like it was all great with Pinochet, he made changes that put us down(10% of the copper money for the armed forces), educational laws that fuck public schools, designated senators, a great crisis in the 80s that meant a lot of people got fucked, a constitution that while it works had to be changed in 2005 to let stupid things out. And the problem is that changing this organical laws requieres the ones that supported him that are now in the congress so thats pretty hard.

So I dont look at this guy with respect, while he helped he fucked poor people, and in the last 20 years they have gained something at least.

He killed the ones that opposed him, exciled others, he was a thief, people couldnt get out of their homes at night, etc... Dont get me wrong, I dont like Allende, but 17 years of dictatorship is way to much even if they had good things.

A dictatorship is good for u when it supports your beliefs and protects you, but if you like that you have to assume someday another dictator may come and think differently and torture and kill you, thats why I dont like dictators.
