As far as best female singer goes it should really go to Mariah Carey or Whitney. Whitney has the power, strong, earthy, thick voice that gives her a unique sound. Mariah has the light airy range like wind. She has a deep lower register which contrasts her high whistles.
But out of Mariah, Celine, Whitney, and Madonna I would have to give it to Mariah. She writes all of her own songs.
