What really makes the Wiimote need a condom for protection is because it's all square with corners and edges. So, unprotected you could easily take an eye out with it. The Move controller is all round and curvy so in an unsheathed state its eye putting out potential is minimal, and putting on rubbery protection really doesn't improve safety. So the only need for a condom is for improved grip and keeping grubby hands off the glistening surface of its curvaceous naked form.
They both have the wrist strap of course, which prevents ranged attacks very effectively, when worn as instructed.
