1) The Fall of Reach (best one)
2) The Flood (I would recommend skipping this book entirely as its mostly a retelling of the events of Halo:CE)
3) First Strike (tied for best novel)
4) The Ghosts of Onyx (good read)
5) Contact Harvest (This is the story of the very first encounter with the covenant so technically this should be the first novel you read although its not necessary)
6) The Cole Protocol (not a fan of this one but its ok)
7) Halo Evolutions (This should definitely be the last one you read since its a collection of short stories from around the Halo universe and so is enjoyed most when familiar with that universe. This is also has some of the best stories ever told in the Halo universe, I'm a big fan of this one and definitely recommend it)
