Even with Xbox Live and a profitable Xbox I don't see Microsoft making 60% the amount of Nintendo. They just don't sell enough of either subscriptions or consoles.

Don't forget about the software.  Most wii titles are $50 while most 360 titles are $60.  The $10 difference adds up quickly.

I didn't forget about software.  Considering the amount of 1st party software Nintendo moves I still don't see them gaining 60% of that despite the $10 difference in the price of games.

It's true that Nintendo moves a lot of first party software but their third party software sales are weak when compared to the 360.  I wouldn't be surprised if microsoft sells twice as much or triple as much third party software as nintendo.

Can I get a link on that statement.  I thought the last time there was Wii doesn't move 3rd party thread that it wasn't true, that in fact they moved more of 3rd party software as well.

The first link I posted was the last time someone took the time to break software up in to first and third party.  It shows the tie ratios and it was at the end of 2008.  It clearly shows the 360 leading.  The second link I showed comes from a recent forum here on vgchartz.  Someone looked at the top 50 titles on the 360 and the top 50 on the wii and ps3.  They broke it down by first party and third party.  The last link I listed shows that the first party nintendo titles made up nearly 50% of nintendo's revenue.  Nintendo titles also sell for a much higher price than third party titles which proves that third party developers are having trouble making as much money on the wii as nintendo does with there games since they have to slash the price much faster.  The same link shows that third party and first party titles are closer to being even on the ds price wise which suggests that third parties are having a better time selling and don't have to slash prices as fast.

But my question to you is if third parties don't have trouble selling on the wii then why are major publishers like capcom and sega voicing concerns?
