Coming to Koku Gamer hot off the presses via neverknowtech is what could be this year’s E3 lineup for two of the big three. The question is, off of whose presses does this leaked photo come: someone in the know at the expo, making a slip-up iPhone 4G style, or a schemer looking to take advantage of the info-hungry gaming press and fandom?
On one hand, the list has enough of what seems to be logical leaps of faith to be legitimate, including a smattering of things we already know to be in the works (ranging from Killzone, Resistance, and Gears of War 3, to Dead Space 2). In addition, titles that are likely in the works (such as inFamous 2 and Motorstorm 3) or are logical next steps in a given series (the COD:MMO) lend a sense of “never-heard-before” legitimacy.
On the other hand however, many have been quick to point out several too-fishy-to-ignore elements of the “leaked” list, ranging from the presence of Mass Effect 3 in Sony, but not Microsoft’s, lineup, to the existence of what is presumably a God of War sequel well before the viral site corresponding to that rumour has even come to fruition. Moreover, the placement of major companies like the ones seen here in a ham-fisted hodge-podge so that they are all easily “screen-cappable” rather than in clear alphabetical order (as is displayed in precedent on the expo website) further diminishes from what credence the list could have. This is all compounded by things like the presence of too-soon-to-be-sequel titles like Forza Motorsport 4, the outright omission of major players for Microsoft such as Fable 3, and a half-hearted renaming of Project Natal.
