I love how FF divides so many people; most memorable for me is IX. VII was the first one i played, but IX is my favourite to the chagrin of my brother who claims VII should be the almighty ruler of the world. To me IX is arguably the best game I've played, the story isn't the most memorable of the FF's perhaps but I just love it.
Least memorable, I'd probably say X-2. I genuinely liked the game, it was just a bad final fantasy game which is why so many people hate it.
