Supposedly after murdering combatants and innocents alike throughout all of ancient Greece, his blood thirst, over his own greed/stupidity, was satiated and he was able to find peace. All because he was filled with HOPE from Pandora's box.
While I enjoyed the gameplay of all three of these games, I never cared for Kratos and the story was, well a bit week (IMO). The ending of this one, cemented my opinion on this.
