Just finished Final Fantasy III (DS):
This is a good game, but like a lot of the RPG's from the NES era, very light on story. Save the world, crystals, warriors of light, etc. The games fun is in it's job system. It's a ton of fun to mess around and find the best (and sucks when you find the worst) combinations of jobs.
Overall, it's a pretty easy game, especially if you're old hand at this type of thing and can identify good level grinding spots (they stick out like a sore thumb in this game). It's fairly unbalanced though, where you'll get a few random difficulty spikes, but I think I died about 4 or 5 times throughout the whole 26 hour adventure. And 26 hours is about all you can expect, as I did just about everything in that time and beat the game at level 61, but could have done it at 56.
It holds up well for a 20+ year old game, and the 3D engine that Matrix software has created for the DS is beautiful, well worth looking into if you love turn-based JRPG's like I do.
8.5/10
