can't wait till the re release in 3D =P

will probably sell a couple more millions after the initial sales of the regular versions

It's not in 3D?  Sheesh, even Journey to the Center of the Earth was :P

I think they are waiting to have a consumer base to sell to when home tv's that are cabable of the theater effects are more popular.

damkira - I'd like to see the numbers of how many people saw titanic compared to Avatar. Doesn't inflation (I mean.. I think movies were 5 dollars in '97 and are like 10 dollars now) and 4 dollars extra for 3d (Making the movie 14 dollars) benifit Avatar. A luxury titanic didn't have? Please correct me if the numbers aren't going off of revenue.

I remember looking at a ticket sales chart a while back that accounted for the USA. I believe Titanic sold 128 million tickets, and Avatar was around 91 million tickets (maybe a little more, since that was during it's theatrical release). So while Avatar made more money, Titanic still had more attendance. Although over 90 million tickets for Avatar is still damn impressive, considering The Dark Knight sold 74 million tickets, and Transformers 2 sold around 55 million.
