MGS4, I expected to be great, though I liked the first 2 better, but still, I wasn't disappointed (and keep in mind I've been playing the series since the very first one on the MSX2 computer). The whole idea of nanomachines being the reason for everything was...kinda stupid though. But it's not as bad as some people make it out to be, for me at least.
Demon's Souls was definitely amazing and a surprise. Can't believe how addicted I became to that game. Like a 3rd person Diablo.
Uncharted is also great stuff, and I expected no less from Naughty Dog. Great storytelling and presentation, lush environments, great animations, and so many gameplay elements blended well.
Valkyria Chronicles. I was expecting it to be a good game, but it turned out even better than I thought. WAY better. One of the very few SRPGs I love.
Assassin's Creed. Not only do I like the story (since I do like to read about the history of the Templars and the sort), but the environmental detail is just amazing. It's fun to explore around. The first one had repetitive gameplay, but I could still make it through the game. 2 was great stuff though. Huge improvement.
Batman: Arkham Asylum. Best superhero game I've ever played. Enough said.
Fl0wer: I don't even need to explain this.
Super Mario Galaxy: It proved that 3D mario games can be good after all.
NSMB. Wii: Old formula, but still as fun as ever.
Wii Franchise: First motion control experience for me. Sunk so many hours into it with my brothers, friends, girlfriend. Even to this day.
Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!
Kojima: Come out with Project S already!
