disolitude....the Samsung 50 inch 7000 series plasma is already $1800 on amazon.

Lets remember, its April, these were only just announced in january and theres really no competition yet with Bestbuy locking up the Panny exclusively for a bit.....prices wont be as scary as everyones trying to say.

Damn that is a great price... I will keep this on my radar.  I read that apparently the burning phosphorus in the plasma TVs gives it quite bad ghosting when it comes to 3D. But if these are as good as those LCD's that sell for 3000 bucks, it may be worth getting.

Edit - Holy crap, these TVs support every 3D format available. Straight from the manual:

3D Mode Operation

2D → 3D Changes a 2D image to 3D.

Side by Side
Displays two images next to
each other.

Top & Bottom
Displays one image above
another.

Line by Line
Displays the images for the left
and right eye alternately in rows.

Vertical Stripe
Displays the images for the
left and right eye alternately in
columns.

Checker
Board
Displays the images for the
left and right eye alternately in
pixels.

Frequency
Displays the images for the
left and right eye alternately in
frames.

Samsung really has their shit together...
