A 3K difference isn't enough to say "It would do better on HD consoles"

This game was a japanese flop on the Wii, and a much higher flop on HD consoles, because of higher development costs.

The Wii version was more profitable despite lower sales.

I think now Grasshopper (?) can see that the HD consoles are not a viable platform to have a profitable game on like No More Heroes.

At least in Japan.

What sort of spin is this?  The visuals are barely different and there would have been no extra costs from character design, world design, audio, story and amjlllion other things because they were all done for the Wii.  I doubt the cost of both HD ports combined surpassed the cost of the Wii version.

Actually, they redubbed everything in Japanese (ie: additional audio).  Also, this isn't just an upscaled portjob, characters were actually remodeled and everything was retextured.  Art assets are basically the biggest expense for modern game development, and while I doubt feelplus broke the bank on this one, 20k (Denegeki) to 28k (Famitsu) 1st week is probably well below what Marvelous had budgeted for...
