Really now? I've been told by friends that it's not worth it past the first book, which I've read. Isn't there a lot of retconning once you get past the first one?

No. I guess there might be retconning if you read the Brian Herbert novels, but I usually just fork the evil eye a those bad boys.

My brother is the only one I know who's red Heretics and Chapterhouse, though, and he says it's not worth reading after God Emperor.

God Emperor, though, is just.... awesome. Phenomenal.
