Even though it's already been beaten to death ad nauseam; these first week sales are for a port of a two year old Wii game.
How is this even a legit comparison?
We now have people implying that the combined cost of porting the games to the 360 and PS3 platforms is somehow on par with or even greater than the original cost of development which by convoluted logic means that the original has been a greater commercial success (or less of a commercial failure, depending on opinion) based on first week sales?
NMH went on to sell about 500k units total, factoring in for some pretty heavy discounting on the majority of those sales. As someone who actually paid full price for the game shortly after it was released, I tend to notice these things.
By the numbers alone, all opinions aside, based on opening week sales, the game appears as though it was best tailored for the small but core audience in Japan that bought the Xbox 360.
Big surprise? Not really.
