Hmm,
Since you've never tried another NTSC game with this adapter it's hard to determine if it's the game or your adapter screwing up. I would try to buy another adapter since they are pretty cheap (max 10 euros) and if it doesn't work you could always sell it again and return the game afterwards. Doesn't any of your friends have another adapter? You really don't need an American SNES for this game, it works fine with most adapters!
