I think removing the HDMI cable is an OK thing to do now.
Back in the day I remember that the cheap HDMI cables were 30 bucks. Now that the tech is more available cables can be picked up for a few dollars.
MS basically were getting a huge amount of perceived value by putting the cable in box. Now not so much.
So out it comes !
