Lets not forget how fast NMH hit the bargain bin. Also, its a port of an old game. The Wii 2 year old Wii version obviously had an impact of potential HD sales.

 

Quoting multiple instances where they were quite happy with NMH Wii sales isn't logical?

Maybe they were happy it wasn't a bomb. But perhaps they were hoping for more success. Hence the HD ports.

or maybe they were happy with the sales, but thought they could get some more sales with the HD ports.  That makes much more sense, if they were hoping for more success they would have made NMH2 on HD systems instead.
