Should the PS3 have stuck with the PS2's L2/R2 buttons?

I prefer the triggers as they are easier to use for analogue functions and don't catch like the L2/R2 buttons used to. Plus they aren't to trigger like which can sometimes feel wrong, like the 360 pad and anything other than shooting a gun.
