| Qays said: That's the thing, Final Fantasy did make a semi-innovative system where you needed to press buttons outside of commands and utilize more than just the stereotypical 'Attack + heal' Strategy. It was Called FFVIII. But tons of people whined that the game sucked, despite its obvious upgrades to FFVII, which was even a downgrade to FFVI in both variety and available actions in battle. So they changed it and went back to a more 'classic' style with FFIX. Sorry, did we play the same game? As I've said before, literally the only three strategies you needed to absolutely destroy VIII are: 1. If you haven't been junctioning just spam GFs. 2. If you have been junctioning just spam Attack. 3. If it's the endgame cast Aura and spam limit breaks. VIII was innovative and risktaking and utterly, completely broken and imbalanced. |
Yes, you have made your dislike for FFVIII well known in other threads. But as I already said, previous FF games were basically the same as you just said. Spamming attack and, in the case of FFVII, Summons. FFVIII at least allowed you the options of doing something different if you chose to go down that path. So if you just found the game was about 'spamming attack', then it was most likely because you made it that way.
