That is not what defines an RPG. If that's the case then Galaga is an RPG. It isn't.
RPGs are derivative of strategy games and fit in a very specific genre that you're not adhering to. I think on some level you know you aren't actually holding to the gaming definition of RPGs in this topic, which is part of why it's so bizarre.
