The Xbox 360 and PS3 are also in different markets (US vs Europe, rite guys?). One plays HD movies and the other doesn't. So -- different markets.
I hope you're being sarcastic, because the Wii, 360 and PS3 have very much overlap in their markets. And there are a ton of people who are buying just one this generation -- so far, I only own the Wii but I will end up going PSWii most likely.
