They didn't die. Eidos closed them down.

They were just restructuring. It happens all the time when large publishers but out small developers.

EA closed down Maxis, Ubisoft closed down Red Storm, Warner Interactive closed down Midway.

These studios were closed down and absorbed into the main publisher.

I still call it death. :D, but yes I understand that.
