Natal is a controller, and like the current controller it has its own power source so just like the current controller it can power on the 360. Tv remotes have been doing it for a long time so it isnt exactly new tech.

It isn't that simple.  Something has to process the audio using voice recognition.  You don't want your 360 turning on whenever someone says anything around the camera. 

No, it isn't that way, you might have to say something like, "Xbox On" to the camera in order to power On the XBOX , I suppose .
