It's a good move, a lot of games (mainly PSP games) release on retail and thus, if they wanted same day release of retail + PSN download version of it, they would have to do a "special" Tuesday release for some games (GTA: CW and AC:Bloodlines are two examples) on Tuesday.
This way, there is one big happy release day for 99% of the games that release on Tuesday
