Hmm they probably need a unique selling proposition, rather than being the more expensive Xbox 360 with Blu Ray to sell a lot more.

Some exclusive 5M+ selling shooters wouldn't hurt, but its hard to see that coming out now that they have already released several shooter franchises which have failed to cross this mark.

Move might help, though it depends on whether people see it as compelling and whether Sony can actually differentiate it from the Wii + provide compelling and unique software for it.

3D gaming wouldn't hurt, however the PS3 isn't powerful enough for every game to enable it and the adoption will be slowed by a lack of 3D ready TVs in the market so its likely to be a slow burn and likely not noticeable in the weekly sales if it takes off at all.

microsoft have one other than halo.

if u mean third person shooters, only halo did in america, neither gears or  gears 2 sold more than 5 million in america.

if you mean worldwide MSG4, Resistance, got over 3 million, and MAG and Socom 4 on their way.

Microsoft has a large lead + even larger lead with multiplayer gamers. Thats a pretty big USP all to itself.

Resistance is over 3M but thats bundled and Sony's best in Killzone 2 is bested by Left 4 Dead or Microsofts third rate shooter series. In a market where the shooter is king, you can't be king if your best is bested by the competitions third best.
