Considering I wrote the original post, it would be useful for me to chime in here. I had forgotten about the HDMI cable change. Outside of this, I had thought about thw Wii and the 360, and how copying went back and forth on that, with the 360 also, but I couldn't think of what the PS3 did first that others copied, so I asked about it.
