Well I'm sure there is a lot like you and those that originally came for that intention but no longer due. Me, however, I joined when there were no forums haha, and for awhile nothing well-established. I already had a forum I mainly talked on (which is almost dead) so really was no point for me. Took me a very long time to become a persistent forum poster here. And I use the data to do a lot of other things for studies into the market (personal use usually, but every now and then I post them here or other places).
Really I should be trying to post less on forums, because I don't like doing it all that much anymore, but I'm too much of an opinionated person haha.
