I swear to god that people on the internet get dumber by the minute.

RolStoppable   “Read this and you will feel enlightened.”

Please tell me you’re trolling… PLEASE!

XxXProphecyXxX  “How about installing games to HDD?”

Problem is you have to install on the PS3 for most games because of that lovely 2x blur-ray drive people love so much.

You mock this?  Really.  Especially when several games don't need to be installed.  FF13, UC2, and GoW3 come to mind.  The latter two being some of the most graphically demanding games on the PS3.  I mostly comes down to inexperience with working on the PS3, as it's just easier to access several assests from the HDD.  Though I don't mind a couple minutes install, since I have to do it all the time for PC games.  I guess you must hate playing games on the PC, as well.

CGI-Quality  “PS3 was the first HDMI-ready console. After its launch, the 360 added the function.”

You might be the only right answer I’ve seen in this entire thread… Congrats for what it’s worth.

Severance  “don't know about you but it actually looks more like the dualshock than the 360's controller”

.You’re kidding right, the wii controller (forget the right name for it) is a SNES controller with grips… the end.

I'm sorry, but anyone who can look at that picture (or a picture of any controller after the introduction of the DS) and say it was not inspired by it, is either in denial or just blind.  Why is there 2 alligned analog sticks?  I don't remember those on my SNES.  Or the 2 additional shoulder buttons?  Don't remeber those, either.  Or that Home button.  And I'm not going to blindly say that Sony wasn't inspired by the SNES controller, either.  Because it is obvious they were.  However, they improved upon it.  So much so, that everyone since has been using their design with just a few minor tweaks to the layout.

realill  “PS3 is a first console with Internet Browser and Wii is second.”

O.o; silly kid you ever own a dreamcast? You know the best console ever made with web browser and the first console to support more than dial-up.

cura  “Neither MS or Nintendo made slim versions of their last gen consoles (i.e., xbox and GameCube respectively) whereas Sony did (i.e., ps2). If MS did it this gen, they'd quite clearly be taking a page out of Sony's book.“

You know Nintendo has a Slim model of the NES, and SNES right???? Yes Sony did it with both the PS1 and PS2. Sega never was good at slimming down there beasts… they just keep adding more junk on top of them. Kind of sad.

NicholasCage  “PS2 Eye Toy = Motion Controls this generation.”

Sorry cage wrong again it was called the Power Glove.

There have been motion control devices before the Power Glove.  One of the first, if not the first, was called Le Stick.  It was created by DataSoft Inc. in 1981 for the Atari 2600, ~8 years before the Power Glove.  And not that you said this, but I'm sure others on here believe it, Sony did not copy Nintendo.  Or vice versa.  They both seem to have picked up an interest in the tech around the same time, albiet using diferent tech.  I'm sure the success of EyeToy cemented Nintendo's advancement in the direction they were going, just as the Wii's huge success cemented Sony's continued efforts into developing their "wands."

phinch1   “Sony was first to add the "Home" button on the controller”

I think Microsoft call it a Guide Button but nice try… swing and a miss.

As I said before, I think the majority of all these accusations and arguments stem from a lack of knowledge in the history of gaming.  I mean most of the ideas used in gaming today are just concepts (whether improved upon or not) that usually stem from the early to mid 80's, even before Nintendo entered into the home console market.  People just need to get over this "copy" BS, cause they all do it.
