Now if you had your drive modified but never played a back up game only original games then MS will not ban you as they cant detect the drive firmware unless a game is used (Notice the bannings usely happen after a big game release (ie Halo 3, MW2 etc), the only way they can detect it is when its used to play a back up, cos the back up is not the same as an original game, and thats why some old back up games can still be played online on old FW but play a back up of a wave 4 game etc on that old firmware and bang your banned. Now what this CFW for the PS3 is being used for is not for playing back ups but just to re add something that sony took. So just like with the CFW of the PSP (i know thats used for back ups etc) sony will most likely just ban the firmware and not the system, so update to a new CFW or an offical sony one and your back on PSN again. ether way i got myself a fat 40gb PS3 2 days ago with Other OS and im waiting for this CFW and in the main time im enjoying MGS4 what a great game :D |
You are incorrect with that assumption, they could detect the firmware in the last ban wave, even c4e agreed on that eventually.
